So So yeah, they worked for uh my point. So So yeah, they worked for uh my point. So So yeah, they worked for uh my great-grandfather and my um my great-grandfather and my um my great-grandfather and my um my great-grandfather and my great-grandfather and my great-grandfather and my great-grandfather and my grandfather all great-grandfather and my grandfather all great-grandfather and my grandfather all worked for the uh one of the same worked for the uh one of the same worked for the uh one of the same companies. It changed hands over the companies. It changed hands over the companies. It changed hands over the years, but it was city service was a big years, but it was city service was a big years, but it was city service was a big thing back there back then. So, so I've always grown up knowing about the oil always grown up knowing about the oil always grown up knowing about the oil industry, being around it. My dad kind industry, being around it. Um because oil field, times of his life. Um because oil field, times of his life. Um because oil field, as you know, is boom or bust. So, as you know, is boom or bust. So, um my dad had an opportunity to buy So, um my dad had an opportunity to buy So, um my dad had an opportunity to buy this little pipe testing rig. He this little pipe testing rig. And that was kind of my initial thought was I don't kind of my initial thought was I don't kind of my initial thought was I don't really want to be a longtime oil field really want to be a longtime oil field really want to be a longtime oil field guy, but for temporary use, it was kind guy, but for temporary use, it was kind guy, but for temporary use, it was kind of like I was thinking um good way to of like I was thinking um good way to of like I was thinking um good way to work through college, good way to uh work through college, good way to uh work through college, good way to uh establish myself. I was thinking about establish myself. I was thinking about establish myself. So, so yeah, senior year of high school, So, so yeah, senior year of high school, So, so yeah, senior year of high school, my dad and I, he had been kind of out of my dad and I, he had been kind of out of my dad and I, he had been kind of out of the oil field at that point. He was doing other things, um, furniture He was doing other things, um, furniture He was doing other things, um, furniture runs, he was doing an apartment runs, he was doing an apartment runs, he was doing an apartment building, he was doing several other building, he was doing several other building, he was doing several other things. So, so we decided to go in other things. So, so we decided to go in other things. So, so we decided to go in together and partner together, um, and together and partner together, um, and together and partner together, um, and buy an oil field pipe testing unit. And we started right out of my senior year, we started right out of my senior year, we started right out of my senior year, graduated, and that summer just got at graduated, and that summer just got at graduated, and that summer just got at it. Um and so still know very little about and so still know very little about and so still know very little about business even though we've had quite a business even though we've had quite a business even though we've had quite a few businesses quite a few years under few businesses quite a few years under few businesses quite a few years under my belt. So, but still learning all the my belt. So, but still learning all the my belt. So, but still learning all the time. Uh, it's just been uh yeah, joy to time. Uh, it's just been uh yeah, joy to time. Uh, it's just been uh yeah, joy to work hard and uh and a through a lot of work hard and uh and a through a lot of work hard and uh and a through a lot of difficulties. We've had a lot of difficulties. We've had a lot of difficulties. We've had a lot of difficulties, but overall just huge difficulties, but overall just huge difficulties, but overall just huge amount of blessing and just good times amount of blessing and just good times amount of blessing and just good times through the oil field industry. So, through the oil field industry. So, through the oil field industry. So we started from really run down. So we started from really run down. So we started from really nothing. Um and uh it did well nothing. Um and uh it did well nothing. Um and uh it did well year-over-year. It would it basically year-over-year. It would it basically year-over-year. It would it basically doubled every year for the first few doubled every year for the first few doubled every year for the first few years and gross sales and uh and yeah, years and gross sales and uh and yeah, years and gross sales and uh and yeah, it began to take me away from kind of my it began to take me away from kind of my it began to take me away from kind of my focus really wasn't on college as much focus really wasn't on college as much focus really wasn't on college as much and uh so I ended up doing a couple and uh so I ended up doing a couple and uh so I ended up doing a couple years at Butler. Um and then I ended up years at Butler. Um and then I ended up years at Butler. Um and then I ended up going to a KState uh salina program up going to a KState uh salina program up going to a KState uh salina program up there and doing an A&P program. But it I there and doing an A&P program. But it I there and doing an A&P program. But it I was coming home every weekend and dad was coming home every weekend and dad was coming home every weekend and dad was kind of running it. We had some guys was kind of running it. We had some guys was kind of running it. We had some guys kind of running the business. I was kind of running the business. I was kind of running the business. I was spending all summers helping out. Um but spending all summers helping out. Um but spending all summers helping out. Um but it just wasn't it wasn't working to do it just wasn't it wasn't working to do it just wasn't it wasn't working to do both. Um so it ended up um I finished both. Um so it ended up um I finished both. Um but I did not end up ever using anything to do with the AM using anything to do with the AM using anything to do with the AM program. But but I wouldn't trade that program. But but I wouldn't trade that program. But but I wouldn't trade that experience. Uh that experience was a lot experience. Uh that experience was a lot experience. Uh that experience was a lot of uh very enjoyable, very fun. Got to of uh very enjoyable, very fun. Got to of uh very enjoyable, very fun. Got to know a great group of guys and gals up know a great group of guys and gals up know a great group of guys and gals up there uh for 2 years. Uh so yeah, that there uh for 2 years. Um and so the three of us kind of were and so the three of us kind of were and so the three of us kind of were working together on a lot of different working together on a lot of different working together on a lot of different projects, different things. Uh but the projects, different things. Uh but the projects, different things. Uh but the oil field we would go from one truck and oil field we would go from one truck and oil field we would go from one truck and we get a second truck and we started to we get a second truck and we started to we get a second truck and we started to get into other fields of the business of get into other fields of the business of get into other fields of the business of the service business per se. Um we the service business per se. Um we the service business per se. Um we started to get into started to get into started to get into the rstabout side which is everything the rstabout side which is everything the rstabout side which is everything from backos to trenchers to skid steers from backos to trenchers to skid steers from backos to trenchers to skid steers that sort of thing. We got into the that sort of thing. We got into the that sort of thing. We got into the rig the pulling unit side. Started just rig the pulling unit side. Started just rig the pulling unit side. Started just uh getting a little bit more uh uh getting a little bit more uh uh getting a little bit more uh equipment every year. the tank truck, equipment every year. the tank truck, equipment every year. the tank truck, the vacuum truck side was pretty early the vacuum truck side was pretty early the vacuum truck side was pretty early on. Um, and we just began expanding. We on. Um, and we just began expanding. We on. Um, and we just began expanding. We would always do it the same way, which I would always do it the same way, which I would always do it the same way, which I wouldn't recommend looking back, but wouldn't recommend looking back, but wouldn't recommend looking back, but we'd always get kind of old, worn out, we'd always get kind of old, worn out, we'd always get kind of old, worn out, used equipment, kind of test the field, used equipment, kind of test the field, used equipment, kind of test the field, see if see if we could get the work see if see if we could get the work see if see if we could get the work first, and then we'd try and build up first, and then we'd try and build up first, and then we'd try and build up something a little bit nicer, a little something a little bit nicer, a little something a little bit nicer, a little bit newer. We still haven't gone to the bit newer. We still haven't gone to the bit newer. We still haven't gone to the brand new, just buying brand new out the brand new, just buying brand new out the brand new, just buying brand new out the gate. But uh but yeah, that's hard way gate. But uh but yeah, that's hard way gate. But uh but yeah, that's hard way to do the oil field business because to do the oil field business because to do the oil field business because you're you're suffering from a lot of you're you're suffering from a lot of you're you're suffering from a lot of breakdowns, a lot of um breakdowns, a lot of um breakdowns, a lot of um » and that yeah, that business is hard on » and that yeah, that business is hard on » and that yeah, that business is hard on equipment. equipment. equipment. » Yeah, it is tough in the field work and » Yeah, it is tough in the field work and » Yeah, it is tough in the field work and uh so yeah, so every so I've learned uh uh so yeah, so every so I've learned uh uh so yeah, so every so I've learned uh uh everything about this ins and outs of uh everything about this ins and outs of uh everything about this ins and outs of running a business to the ins and outs running a business to the ins and outs running a business to the ins and outs of running machinery and trying to of running machinery and trying to of running machinery and trying to figure that out. And most of the times figure that out. And most of the times figure that out. And so we the oil wells themselves. And so we the oil wells themselves. And so we started um acquiring a little bit of started um acquiring a little bit of started um acquiring a little bit of that through our company. And uh and that through our company. And uh and that through our company. And uh and then we also managed their production then we also managed their production then we also managed their production also. So we got into that side more and also. So we got into that side more and also. So we got into that side more and more as we grew. Got into a few leases more as we grew. Got into a few leases more as we grew. Got into a few leases here and there. Um started expanding here and there. Um started expanding here and there. Um started expanding that side. But the priority was uh that side. But the priority was uh that side. Um but yeah, we've we started side. Um but yeah, we've we started side. From the crews to the safety aspects to the uh just the job aspects to the uh just the job aspects to the uh just the job fluctuation with prices. there's fluctuation with prices. there's fluctuation with prices. there's nothing more centered on the price of nothing more centered on the price of nothing more centered on the price of oil than a drilling rig because that's oil than a drilling rig because that's oil than a drilling rig because that's the first thing people shut off when the first thing people shut off when the first thing people shut off when the prices go down is they just stop prices go down is they just stop prices go down is they just stop drilling and the service work and drilling and the service work and drilling and the service work and everything that kind of keeps going.
